This policy is an operational description of how refunds work. It is a draft pending attorney and accounting review before live checkout and is not a promise of legal compliance for your jurisdiction. Mandatory, nonwaivable consumer rights control where they apply.
Own Your Website — setup payment
The one-time $2,000 setup payment is 90% refundable for any reason when requested within 14 calendar days after your setup payment is successfully verified by Stripe. We retain 10% to cover the onboarding and administrative work we perform in that first window. After the 14-day window, the setup payment is no longer refundable.
Refunds and code ownership
Ownership of the transferable website code, and eligibility for the Complete Website Code Transfer Package, arise only after the 14-day refund period expires — unless you first sign or electronically accept a clear, informed, irrevocable waiver of the remaining refund right. Requesting, accepting, downloading, accessing, or receiving the package during that period requires that express waiver; we do not treat silence or passive steps as consent. Once the refund right is waived or the package is delivered, the setup fee is nonrefundable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
If you receive any setup-fee refund, you permanently lose and relinquish all ownership, license, possession, and transfer rights in the website code, you are not eligible for the transfer package, and you must stop using and delete any copies you received, subject to applicable law.
Cancellation notice
Cancelling any monthly service, including care and Start With $0 plan service, requires at least 30 days' written notice. You may submit a cancellation request through the customer portal or by email from the account on file. It becomes effective 30 calendar days after we receive it. A scheduled renewal may occur during that notice period, and charges continue through it. There are no prorated or partial-period refunds unless applicable law requires them. After the effective cancellation date we will not start a new recurring charge, except for amounts already due or otherwise authorized. The existing paid-period and post-cancellation transfer-window rules still apply.
Own Your Website — monthly care
The $29/month recurring care payments are nonrefundable once billed, except where law requires otherwise. Cancel with 30 days' written notice; your website stays live through the paid notice period, followed by a 30-day post-cancellation period during which the existing hosted website may remain available and, on request, we will deliver the Complete Website Code Transfer Package described in our service policy, if you are eligible for it. That package is source code and permitted assets only. That 30-day period is not migration support, transition assistance, consultation, or technical help, and we do not offer installation, migration, hosting, or DNS setup for hire. Moving the site to another host, all DNS work, and setting up any third-party services is solely the customer's responsibility. We do not prorate refunds for partial months once care has begun.
Start With $0 — monthly plan payments
Start With $0 has no trial. The $149/month plan payments are nonrefundable once billed, except where law requires otherwise. Each payment covers hosting, website care, and routine changes for that month. Cancel with 30 days' written notice; if you cancel before the ownership contribution is complete, service ends after the paid notice period, ownership does not transfer, and no refund is generated. An optional early buyout may be offered only under a separate written quote; availability and pricing are not promised and there is no fixed buyout formula.
Third-party fees, IDX/MLS and CRM costs, add-ons, custom work, domains, taxes, and amounts already earned or performed are nonrefundable except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing. Failed, reversed, disputed, or charged-back payments may suspend service and reverse the related ownership credit; suspension does not erase amounts due and does not create a refund right.
Promotions, discounts, and ownership
Promotional pricing changes what you pay; it does not change what ownership costs. A fully sponsored account — admitted under a promotion whose written terms waive 100% of the website price or all required plan charges — holds a hosted-service license only, never earns code or design ownership, and is never eligible for the Complete Website Code Transfer Package while that promotion governs the account. A one-invoice courtesy credit or one free month does not by itself create a fully sponsored account; the written promotion terms control.
Ownership on Start With $0 requires both at least 20 successfully settled, qualifying, nonreversed payments and a snapshotted dollar contribution in net settled, nonrefunded ownership credits. The upfront ownership price is $2,000. The Start With $0 installment ownership price is $2,400. On each successful Start With $0 payment the snapshotted service portion (currently $29/month) is allocated to hosting and care first, and only the remaining eligible pre-tax amount earns ownership credit — normally $120 per payment on the current $149 plan, reaching $2,400 on the 20th successful payment, after which billing becomes $29/month for hosting and care. Discounts, refunds, disputes, and missed payments delay that date but never reduce the required amount. Fully waived accounts normally accumulate no ownership credit and have no projected ownership date; if such a customer later pays eligible amounts totalling the requirement, the dollar rule controls. Taxes, care, domains, IDX/MLS, add-ons, third-party fees, credits and waived amounts, failed payments, and post-ownership care never earn credit, and refunds or chargebacks reverse the related credit. Meeting the amount does not itself deliver anything — the transfer request, refund-period or waiver, account-current, and package rules still apply. See the Terms of Service for the controlling text.
Satisfaction commitment
We include reasonable first-build revisions within the original agreed scope until you approve the initial launch. This is a commitment to work through the initial revision round together — it is not a 100% money-back promise, and it does not guarantee any specific outcome or performance target.
Add-ons
Optional add-ons (SEO / AEO, Analytics) are not available for purchase during our launch and test window, and there is nothing to refund yet.
How to request
Email bryan@boringbusinesswork.com from the account on file. We will confirm eligibility (plan, payment date, and refund window). Approved refunds are submitted promptly to the original payment method, but posting times depend on your bank and payment processor and are outside our control.
